Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (EMUS)

Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (EMUS)

Welcome to the EMUS group with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital. Point of care ultrasonography – Emergency Medicine (POCUS-EM) has been practiced at our centre since 1998 under the leadership and vision of Dr. Guy Hebert.  As one of the first centres in Canada to employ clinical sonography in practice, we strive for excellence in this exciting field.

We have a dynamic, integrated program that includes undergraduate, postgraduate, fellowship, and continuing education. We are actively involved in local and multi-centre research projects involving POCUS.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate POCUS-EM electives are currently available only to University of Ottawa members and are organized on an individual basis subject to availability.
